Harry woke up, and wondered for a moment where he was. Then he remembered, and groaned. Last night, he had somehow blown up his Aunt Marge, run away from home and then ended up at the Leaky Cauldron only to run right into the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge. And then, Fudge had NOT had him arrested and expelled from school as he had expected, but had been pretty reasonable and told him that he should stay at the Leaky Cauldron for the rest of the summer. He looked at the sunlight streaming through the window, and got out of bed, pulling on clothes as he walked over to the window.
Doing Hermione a Favour - Chapter 2 - erbkaiser - Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling [Archive of Our Own]
Rowling 's Harry Potter series. She first appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone , as a new student on her way to Hogwarts. After Harry and Ron save her from a mountain troll in the girls' restroom, she becomes best friends with them and often uses her quick wit, deft recall, and encyclopaedic knowledge to lend aid in dire situations. Rowling has stated that Hermione resembles herself as a young girl, with her insecurity and fear of failure.
Over the past 20 years, Harry Potter fans have disagreed about, well, everything, but one of the most constant, consistent arguments is over the romantic pairings. While I try not to get too caught up in whether or not Neville and Luna should have ended up together in the end, I am a firm believer Hermione should have ended up with Harry , and I'm not the only one who thinks so. Everyone from J. Rowling to Emma Watson agree: Ron and Hermione's happily ever after was one of the series' greatest mistakes.
She is the most prominently featured female character and undergoes tremendous character development from a "bossy know-it-all" to a strong and intelligent young woman who is confident in herself. By the series' end, she marries her best friend Ron Weasley and has two children with him. This has caused some division between the fandom, many of whom shipped her with people other than Ron. Even J. Rowling herself has expressed regret about the pairing!
